Even before starting college I was always late on due dates, even to get to class on time, and after graduating from High School, I knew I needed to get everything together, I mean, being late on everything is terrible, especially because in College you are going to regret turning things late.
However, I was lucky, I talked with my College counselor, and she was a lifesaver. The first thing she brought up was making a schedule that works for me, and she helped me make it. Thanks to that I was able to organize everything, and I mean it, I am not the most organized person in the world, but I was able to go through my first semester just fine, and I can safely say that it’s worth it, to invest your time on making a schedule that works for you.
Often people who do bad in College is not because of heavy course load, or just having a lot of projects, or whatever, the main reason why people have a hard time with College is because of their organization, honestly if you are not organized, it will really difficult to pass the course, and to graduate if that’s even possible.
So, how do you stay organized? Simple, design your own schedule, this is the main thing that will keep you organized, secondly, you need to be flexible, there might be times in which you won’t be able to follow your schedule, so if that happens, you need to find solutions in order to maintain a balance at least, on what you should or should not do.
I’ve met people who don’t have their own schedule, and they just do things normally, and it works for them, but if you really are struggling, you need to make a schedule as fast as possible, that is the best way to be organized in College.
