When we study, we want to have the perfect place for it. We want to study in a place that doesn’t have distractions, too much noise, bad lighting, bad temperature, etc. That is why we are going to share some tips on how to create the perfect study place. These tips will not be effective for everyone, so feel free to experiment until you find what works best for you.
1. Remove distractions
When creating the “perfect” study place, you have to keep in mind that you want to create a place that can help you focus on what you have to do. The moment you get distracted is when you start wasting valuable time. That is why, before you sit down to start studying, make sure you remove all possible distractions.
When you are creating your study place, avoid having these distractions: too many open tabs, food everywhere, video games, television, your phone, other people (unless it’s a group project).
2. Make the study place comfortable
If you are creating a study place then you need to make sure it’s comfortable as you will probably be in that place for hours. But you must be careful, if the study place is way too comfortable it could be a problem.
Avoid studying in bed, as you will likely feel too relaxed to study and in some cases may even fall asleep. Instead, try sitting in a chair. Comfortable, but not too comfortable.
3. Prepare everything you will need
Try to stay at the study place for as long as possible as leaving to grab things you forgot will only distract you and make you lose time. Before you start studying, make sure you have everything you will need ready.
Now, what are some things you might need? A computer in some cases, some snacks, water, textbooks, notebooks, good lighting.
4. Make sure the study place is well illuminated
It will be difficult for you if the study place isn’t well illuminated as you will have to squint at the book. Now, it is difficult to know what level of brightness will be the best for you, that is why you need to experiment with different combinations. Try studying near a window where you can use natural light, maybe that works best for you. You can also try using an overhead light or a desk lamp.
